Boys & Girls Club will host Back to School Family Health Fair
The Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties will hold it’s annual Back to School Family Health Fair on Saturday, August 11th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at its downtown facility, located at 1395 Summer St. NE. All local families are invited to attend and benefit from the many essential and free health services, games, activities, raffles, and even free school supplies offered at the fair.
The Back to School Family Health Fair will feature:
- A healthy family BBQ
- Vision and hearing screening
- Free haircuts for kids offered by the College of Hair Design
- Child ID kits from the Oregon State Police
- Dental Screenings in the on-site dental clinic from local dentists and a meeting with Tooth Fairy “Dana”
- Free backpacks with school supplies
- Health Screenings
- Family Health & Nutrition Information
- Bike Safety Rodeo
Other activities and services will also be provided by community partners including DHS Healthy Kids Assistors, Keizer Lions, Easter Seals, Salem Housing Authority, Family Building Blocks, D.A.R.E., Costco, Marion Polk Food Shareand New York Life.
Volunteers over 16 are needed at the Health Fair to help setup, provide event support, and cleanup for this monumental one-day event. About the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties
For 42 years the Boys & Girls Club has given children opportunities for success in our community, focusing on three essential outcomes: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development and Healthy Lifestyles. The Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties provides positive, guidance-oriented activities to over 10,000 youth in grades 1-12 at six youth centers, a health services center and community athletic leagues. Club Memberships are only $5 per program year, and the programs we offer are made possible by the generosity of our community.
