BRANCH DIRECTOR

$10.00 - $13.00 per hour

This Part time Youth Development Professional position with the

Boys & Girls Clubs of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties,

a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

   The position will operate at a Boys & Girls Club Branch. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, promoting, coordinating and implementing all youth programming and serving as primary facility supervisor. The position will work closely with school principals and staff to develop a collaborative youth development program that meets the needs of neighborhood youth.

 

TO QUALIFY:

  • Two and/or four-year college degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in youth development, especially with Boys & Girls Clubs, preferred.
  • Supervisory skills mandatory.
  • Creativity and flexibility are a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to approved organizational policies and procedures.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Pass a drug testing and criminal background check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite applications.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes a program setting that insures the health and safety of Club members.
  • Plans programs and activities in five core program areas consistent with the organization's youth development mission.
  • Develops and oversees the overall daily climate for youth development.
  • Develops plans and conducts programs and activities that appeal to youth in grades 1-12.
  • Provides guidance support services to youth.
  • Develops positive, productive relationships with youth.
  • Manage pertinent program grants.
  • Promotes and markets programs to youth, families and community members.
  • Lead and support branch Parents Club.
  • Enhance, recruit and retain partnerships to support ongoing programs.
  • Implements programs that attract youth; reflect the needs of youth are guidance oriented and react quickly to community needs.
  • Maintains positive, productive relationship with and provides information to the staff and administration of partner Elementary School.

ABILITY TO:

  • Interpret Boys & Girls Club purposes to individuals, schools and community.
  • Lead and supervise employees.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with adults, youth, community groups and organizations (written and oral).

Youth Development Program Aide

15-25 hours per week

This part-time position is with the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties. This position is responsible for providing activity and program supervision under the direction of a Boys & Girls Club professional staff member at one of the five neighborhood youth centers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school graduate and 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience in youth work preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Communicate effectively with adults and youth.
  • Attention to detail
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work as a team player in a large nonprofit organization
  • Be a strong, positive role model.
  • Provide energetic and exciting experiences for youth.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Lead youth-oriented, educational and recreation-based activities to youngsters in large and small groups.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implement planned activities in assigned program areas at one of the neighborhood youth centers as assigned.
  2. Ensure assigned program area operation meets Boys & Girls Club operating procedures and policies.
  3. Provide guidance oriented program atmosphere to youth members utilizing the organization’s specific guidance techniques.
  4. Promote club programs/activities to youth members.
  5. Implement the Youth Development Strategy, which builds youth’s self esteem by instilling a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence.
  6. Adhere to operational procedures and policies to insure the safety of the youth participants.
